The rat is revered in the Chinese culture for being both a protector of family and a bringer of material wealth. Rats are generally, smart and charming, as well as honest and affectionate. Rats can be cunning in a positive way (like hunting for a bargain), or in a negative way (like being secretive or calculating). They can act as motivators to others, but can also come across as over-bearing. The Taurus personality is similar to that of the Chinese sign, Ox, which is the complement to the Rat sign. This gives you a very balanced personality; although, people may find you hard to understand as you are probably very different from your Rat peers. Intransigence sometimes replaces flexibility, forthrightness your normal indirect approach, and conservatism versus living on the edge---to name a few differences. You are also likely to be more patient, conscientious and willing to deal with routine matters. In general you are more stable.
